Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort Joins Road Atlanta’s Petit Le Mans as Presenting Sponsor

Road Atlanta and Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort have partnered for the 2016 edition of the world-renowned Petit Le Mans sportscar endurance race, as Harrah’s joins the event as the new presenting sponsor.

The 19th Annual Petit Le Mans presented by Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort is a four-day motorsports festival, running September 28th through October 1st, at the historic Road Atlanta road course in north Georgia. First-class teams from the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship will compete for top honors in the 10-hour endurance classic, which features four different classes of some of the most high-tech race cars in the world.

2017 IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship Schedule Revealed

ELKHART LAKE, Wis. (August 5, 2016) – The 2017 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship schedule unveiled today in Road America’s new Victory Lane in front of an audience of stakeholders, media and race fans features venue stability – all 12 racetracks that have hosted WeatherTech Championship events since the 2015 season are on next year’s schedule.

However, the schedule does include a few notable alterations and date shifts for two events. The event at Circuit of The Americas – which has been run in September since the WeatherTech Championship’s inception in 2014 and also hosted an American Le Mans Series event in September 2013 – will move into the spring in 2017. In addition, the event at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca – which has traditionally been run in late April or early May – moves to September in 2017 as the penultimate round of the WeatherTech Championship.

Road Atlanta Announces Miss Road Atlanta 2016 Representative Danielle Stratton

BRASELTON, Ga. (August 3, 2016) – Road Atlanta is pleased to announce the 2016 Miss Road Atlanta representative, Danielle Stratton of Atlanta, Ga.

Miss Road Atlanta 2016 Danielle Stratton has been a motorsports enthusiast all of her life, so being at the racetrack feels like home.

Danielle will be representing the race track at the 19th Annual Petit Le Mans, Sept. 28 through Oct. 1. Although this will be her first Petit Le Mans, Danielle is no stranger to racing, having spent five years behind the wheel competing in Legends cars. She started racing at oval tracks in central Florida at the age of 14 and won some notable awards including being named Rookie of the Year in 2010. Danielle was on her way up the racing ladder when she was involved in a racing incident that left her with a broken joint in her ankle and unable to continue competing.
